Growing up on Azeroth

So I got home tonight and somehow this happened? I experienced a crazy wave of nostalgia for my favorite game and felt utterly compelled to illustrate the importance Warcraft has had on my life.

Short version: I became enTHRALLed (hohoho) with the Warcraft universe around the age of 10 and have been totally absorbed in its story every since.

Long version:
A lot of pop culture obviously influences all of us as kids. My obvious top contenders are The Lion King and Star Wars, and right there along side them is Warcraft.

I moved from a large, rural area with a lot of space to play, to a city/suburb when I was 10. I think finding Warcraft and the stories within helped replace the wide open space I used my imagination in prior to, so I latched onto it and went crazy.

My love for the game carried on past the Warcraft 2 phase, I've been an avid fan of every title released since.
It is a big factor in why I became an artist, in the type of subject manner I create, and my interest in storytelling to name a few!

a few fun commentary notes:
* I used to pretend I was the Dragon Roost when I was being Alextraza
* We had a trunk in our basement that I perched ontop of to reenact this illustration, despite it being a gryphon and not Deathwing.
The orc banners/symbols I was so obsessed with: 1 2
* I really really really loved Deathwing
* My persona, Magnus, came about in large part due to Warcraft. My first drawing of Magnus has her titled as a dragon from Draenor!
