Patchwork Redesign 1 by weremagnus Patchwork Redesign 1 by weremagnus
The start of re-designing my patchwork-bat character, aptly named Patchwork. So as to be less 'cookie-cutter bat anthropomorph'.

Key changes I've begun to consider:
- Ditched the stitching on the wing membrane everywhere except for where it connect directly to the body/legs
- Stretched membrane connecting tissue down to the calves
- Webbing now from deltoid to the wrist, and from the sides of the tail to behind the knee
- Patching pattern will soon follow musculature since it makes more sense
- Elongated ulna/radius
- Face design will be tweaked in terms of overall shape/nose

NO. He can't wear pants anymore due to actual, functional wings.

expect moar later. once im done school. these were scribbled during my lunch break today on the sides of my typography.

good design. Maybe he should wear chaps. lol Though i highly doubt he would look good in them. XD

In whole (and since i just saw the print of the old version on Psy's cabinet door) he looks a lot more mature and animal-esque now. Nice changes. :D

Unless you make portions for the pants so they'll stay up and he'll still have the realistic appendages *shot*

I love his posture now, I have to say. I do have to ask though, are his colors/face still the same?

Just curious. Great work.

And yes, an elongated ulna makes a GREAT image for a bat.

yeah but then he'll look like a clown. and a furry.

see I'm trying to move away from that.

but his colors are going to remain. His hair may become more muted/dirty hued. As for his face, it'll be similar, but no it is going to be changed. I want him to look more like a vampire bat like I've always called him instead of a Jax clone/leaf nosed generic bat.

True. Style changes 'eh? But you never considered yourself a furry in the first place right? I dunno.

Is he still anthropomorphic or not? (Cause that doesn't necessarily mean he's "furry") I have no idea. I'm just curious. He looks badass in all ways anyway.

What colors will his wing membranes be?

oh yes he's still anthropomorphic.
Human like in personality, can concieve speech, human facial expressions all of that. he walks upright i mean...he's still the same height and all of that. Just more animal and less cartoon animal.

Wing membranes will probably stay pale green, like semitransparent flesh on any bat wings. Maybe one or two portions will be black though. who knows, i havent had time to think much more on him yet.

Nice. I really like the way these initial sketches came out and think that the more bat-like appearance is a cool way to go with him, especially with the wings and how his arms and hands are now connected to it. I look forward to seeing the more finished look once you're all done with school. Keep up the great work.

o you quoted me i see what you did there

I always thought that the pants - though rad - would make it impossible for him to fly. I like this concept a lot; I think making Patchwork more anatomically correct will make him far more monstrous.

I'm pretty excited to see what you're going to do to his face.

he's gonna be a beast
