This is a book! Use the arrows at the top corners to flip pages
This is an assignment from this semester where the goal was to make a process booklet, with 4 or more categories, detailing a world of your own creation with things like character, costume, environment, etc
So I took it as an opportunity to explore my Coldblood story a little further visually! Some of the page number alignments don't match up but oh well, they're copied pages from a PDF so deal!
also categorizing this is tricky since it falls under a lot x_x Anyway, to answer questions I am anticipating...
In my alternate western universe here, post-Civil war there are mass cases of beast/feral mutation which is only described as an infection. With the outbreaks occurring so closely after the war, as well as slavery's end, there is only chaos and tension between not only races, but species. The color of skin is forgotten and radical idealists clash not regarding the rights former slaves, but of fellow Americans.
Is it an infection? Where did it come from? I like to keep this a secret! But I will say (much of this can be read in the book up there) that trauma affects the acceleration of symptoms and that there are varying degrees of infection; from something as minimal as ears turning to a point or something as drastic as my main characters full-body mutation.
Anywho, enjoy!
edit: Also, yes I know the horses and guns are terrible but hey I'm trying >/
I'm amazed with how much thought must've gone into this. It's just so damn detailed! I love how you included a backstory, a fictional timeline, and all of the concept art is insane! It's almost a shame that all of this isn't going towards a proper story or movie or game or something, just becuase of how much thought you've put into it.
Tremendously thought out, and intricate in your details. It is inspirational! I started doing a series of paintings and drawings years ago for a personal project I called, Satyrs and Centaurs of the Old West. This wonderful world you created makes me want to revisit mine and FINISH it....AS YOU SHOULD THIS! Truly, a wonderful imagination you have. Please continue to challenge yourself. I too, would buy this if it were a comic, or CHILDREN'S book. And I should know, I am an elementary school teacher by day and have reads hundreds of books to kids....(ok, maybe this could be for fourth graders who have to study the American Civll War). Thank you for posting such colorful, animated work here on DA. All the best, DAn
Wow, this is really awesome! I love the idea and I love being able to compare the characters forms before and after mutation. I also really like how the characters ACTUALLY LOOK like the animals they take their forms from. I am quite impressed with this!
